about me

"I am passionate about supporting expectant and new parents on their journey through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum."

My name is Aisling Finnegan, and I’m a mum of four living with my family in the Kildare/Dublin area.

As a Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, and Birth Educator, I am passionate about supporting expectant and new parents throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.

I am also the co-founder of BirthBox.ie, an online store specialising in labour and birth tools. We offer labour preparation packages, maternity TENS machines, birth balls, and other comfort measures to support a positive birthing experience.

My approach to Birth Doula support is fully personalised, ensuring you feel empowered and supported in your choices, whether you’re planning a hospital birth or home birth.

I also provide postpartum doula support, tailored to the needs of each family. My goal is to help you feel confident, cared for, and at ease during this time.

Having a doula by your side provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support, helping to create a more positive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience.

I’d love to support you on this journey!

What I Offer

The list below gives an insight into the services that I provide to support you and your family at this precious time.

I feel so fortunate to be a Doula. Every part of my work brings me joy, and the versatility of my role ensures that no two days are ever the same.

Some days, I guide expectant parents through antenatal classes, helping them prepare for birth. Other days, I support my birth clients, providing continuity of care and empowering them for their journey ahead.

As a postpartum Doula, I assist new parents during the postpartum period – offering support in whatever way they need. Whether it’s preparing meals, doing light housework, caring for their baby while they rest, or simply providing emotional support, I am there. I also love offering feeding guidance and being just a call or text away whenever they need reassurance.

I truly feel so lucky to love what I do.

Antenatal Class

‘Prepare for Birth & Postpartum’ Antenatal Workshop with Aisling Finnegan and Louise Grant

We are so excited to bring our Prepare for Birth and Postpartum Antenatal class to Little Roo Studio.

Centred in the heart of Blackrock village, Little Roo Parent and Baby Hub is the place for expectant parents, parents and families in the Dublin area.

This is an informal and relaxed Doula led antenatal class to prepare and empower you for birth and postpartum. We believe that preparing for postpartum is JUST AS IMPORTANT as preparing for birth, and we cover everything from birth to postpartum in a fun and engaging way.

Our goal is to empower expectant parents to trust their bodies, their choices, their boundaries, and their decisions. Education and preparation are key to a positive birth and postpartum experience, and our antenatal class is the perfect way to get started on that journey.

So, if you’re looking for a supportive, inclusive, and fun antenatal class experience, we would love to welcome you and your partner or birth support person along.

Next date coming soon.

Aisling is such a kind person and so committed to supporting mothers and families on their journey to motherhood. She offered invaluable support to my partner and I in the weeks leading up to our baby’s arrival and afterwards too. It’s so clear that she loves and breathes this work and goes above and beyond to provide reassurance, support and evidence based information which was beyond helpful as a first time Mama.

I had some concerns in the lead up to the time of our baby’s arrival, particularly in relation to interventions and not having access to certain resources within the hospital setting and she helped me to feel at ease with her calm manner and eagerness to find a solution. No matter what question I had, she always provided evidence based research which helped to deepen my own understanding and allow me to come to decisions based on knowledge I may otherwise not have had access to.

She often provided me with podcasts, links and reading material which ultimately helped me to become more informed about the whole process. Her presence at the birth of our baby was so helpful, it completely changed the energy of the room and I knew my preferences were really being listened to where possible.

My birth experience was so incredibly positive - having Aisling alongside my partner and I helped us so much. She is very professional in her approach and is so well versed on how to support people effectively on this incredible journey. Even the snacks she brought to the hospital were just what I needed!

Forever grateful for crossing paths with her and I highly recommend her for her wisdom, understanding, reliability and unwavering support. Thank you!

"Nothing can quite prepare you for having a newborn. Personally, I found caring for my newborn really difficult after a traumatic birth experience resulting in an emergency c section and back problems. Aisling supported me while I tried to process everything and also offered practical support such as making lunch for us and caring for our baby boy while my husband and I rested. She offered emotional and practical support which helped us to enjoy the challenging postpartum period."

"From the moment we met Aisling, we knew immediately that we wanted her to support our family. It was an instant connection and when you meet her, you will know what we mean!
As first time parents we had no idea what to expect and from the get go Aisling just put us at ease. Everything from arranging a private antenatal class before Mason arrived to booking us in to a first aid class when he was a couple of weeks old, Aisling ensured we had all the knowledge that we needed as new parents and was only more than happy to help.
The journey so far, thankfully has been so smooth for us and Aisling has been a large part to play in this. Mason is 14 weeks old now and he lights up when Aisling arrives and has a gorgeous bond with her. Our dog Teddy even jumps for joy when Aisling knocks at the door!
We couldn't recommend Aisling enough. To any parents, be it first time like us or not, Aisling will undoubtedly be one of the best decisions you could make for your new baby and for your family."
